Indoor League 3rd Round Report

Oeiras playing Gaspar Correia in the first game of the evening, won the toss and elected to bat.

They amassed 176 runs for the loss of4 wickets, with Shyrma (52 n.o.) and Paulo (27 n.o.) plundering most of the runs.  In reply Gaspar Correia never matched the required run rate and despite only loosing 3 wickets only managed 78 runs, losing by 98 runs.

CHP took on Kings of Punjab in the second game.  Kings, won the toss and fielded first.  CHP looked comfortable with 45 runs off 3 overs, until Praveen in the 4th over yorked both openers.  This caused a collapse, with Praveen (12 runs for 3 wickets) having a hand in 2 more wickets, one being a brilliant catch to dismiss Meru off Manveer’s bowling – to leave them 82 runs to win.  In response, Meru (6 runs for 3 wickets) ripped through the Kings opening attack, having them on 16 for 4 in the 3rd over.  However, a solid partnership between Nika (24n.o.) and Sabi (17n.o.) saved the day and Kings won their second game of the tournament 16 balls to spare.
