ICC Europe Coach Development Conference

Last weekend, 4-6 February 2011, two Portuguese coaches, Ricardo Ferreira and Carlo Buccimazza, went to the ICC Europe Coach Development Conference in Guernsey. With the them of the conference being "Coaching the Changing Game", there were two programs held during the conference, the High Performance Program and the ICC Europe Tutor Training Program. It was in this second program that the Portuguese coaches were enrolled, in an effort to continue producing national Cricket coaches.

The conference began Friday, February 4, in the late afternoon, with the two programs working together, where they were given an introduction and some explanations about the main theme of the conference. This was followed by preparation for Saturday, where the group was divided into their respective programs.

The next two days was accompanied by hard work and many explanations about the various techniques of the game. From batting techniques, bowling to specific techniques for wicket-keepers and fielders. After this some modified games were introduced to focus on these techniques. At the end conference, all the coaches in the ICC Europe Tutor Training Program were evaluated.

This was another successful initiative of ICC Europe's Development Program.
